Kessia's fund

Firstly, thanks to all who have so generously contributed to Kessia's Fund.

What we've done so far

We have opened an account in Kessia's name. Originally this was to fund "fun" activities and trips away for Kessia and ourselves during her sickness. From all the generous support so far:

• Joshua and Kessia had a gigantic toy shopping spree which they loved.
• We were able to have Kate and Michael join us for our Seaworld trip --- which would have been impossible without them.
• We went to see High 5 in concert when they visited Canberra.

How we intend to use fund money

Now that Kessia has passed away, we will be using the very generous contributions already received, and those which may still come, to help us achieve a few desires:

• To return to Port Vila to hold a memorial service and see our many friends who knew and loved Kessia.
• To take Joshua on a month's long holiday in the new year, to focus our attention fully on him, and to relax, have fun and "regroup" as a family.
• To purchase a microwave, toaster, crockery and cutlery set, and if possible, a continuous supply of bread, spreads and cereal, for the parents' room at the Gold Coast Hospital.
• To donate books and educational toys to the school rooms at The Canberra Hospital, Sydney Children's Hospital and Gold Coast Hospital. For this, we will most likely buy three sets of Kessia's favourite books, as well as toys we found invaluable during her illness, amongst them the games "Connect 4", "Juniour Scrabble" and an etcher sketcher.
• Depending on how this fund grows, an idea that has been floating around in our heads is to sponsor an orphanage somewhere in Asia. We'll keep the site posted on this.
